How to Warm Up a TikTok Account for a US Audience (2026 Guide)

Set up and warm up your TikTok, Instagram and YouTube Shorts accounts before your first clip, so your videos get seen from day one.

Why this matters

A new account that starts posting clips on day one looks like spam to the algorithm. Its reach gets capped and its videos get buried. A warmed-up account has a clear niche and a history of normal activity. That means better reach, faster growth and clips that get seen from your first post.

3–5 daysof warm-up per platform before you post anything
20–30 mina day of slow, real engagement in your niche
3 platformsyou can warm up all at the same time
Part 1

Before you start (all platforms)

1

Pick your niche first

Everything else depends on this: username, bio and warm-up searches. Your niche is the kind of content you'll clip.

Podcasts (business, self-improvement, comedy)Streamers & IRLSports & athlete interviewsTech & AI interviewsA clipping campaign you've joined

If you're clipping for a campaign, your niche is that creator or show.

2

Use a fresh account for each platform

Don't use your personal account. Its history tells the algorithm you're into everything, which works against a niche page.

3

One phone, the official app, a normal connection

  • Create and use each account in the official mobile app on a real phone.
  • Don't create several accounts in a row on the same device.
  • Don't switch VPN locations on and off. Sudden location jumps are one of the most common reasons new accounts get restricted.
4

Verify everything you can

Add an email and a phone number to every account. Verified accounts are trusted more and are much easier to recover.

Part 2

Setting up your profile

It should look like a real page in your niche, not a brand or a bot. Make it clear it's a clips page, and never pose as the creator you're clipping.

Username

Good examplespodcastclips.dailyspeedmomentsfounder.clipshoopsclipztechtalks.shorts
Avoid
  • Random numbers (clips84721)
  • The creator's exact name or handle (ishowspeed.official)
  • Anything that says “promo” or “ads”

Bio

Keep it short, casual and on topic. Say what people get by following.

Best moments from your favorite podcastsDaily clips you'll actually want to watchStreamer highlights, every dayThe best 60 seconds of every interview
Don't put links, money talk or “follow for follow” in your bio during warm-up.

Profile picture

Use a clean, simple image that fits your niche:

  • A bold icon or symbol
  • A simple logo you made yourself
  • A niche-related graphic
Not the blank default — it looks like a bot

Don't use the creator's official photo or logo in a way that makes your page look like their official account.

Part 3

Platform setup and warm-up

Three to five days each. Run them in parallel on the same phone.

TikTok

Your main platform for a US audience
Setup
  1. 1Sign up with email or phone, not “Continue with Google/Apple” linked to your personal account.
  2. 2Fill in your username, bio and profile picture as described in Part 2.
  3. 3Go to Settings and privacy → Privacy and set: Downloads OFF · Following list: Only you · Liked videos: Only you · Profile views OFF.
Days 1–3 · Search training
  • Search your niche keywords: the creator's name, the podcast name or “[niche] clips”.
  • Let TikTok's autocomplete suggest searches and tap through them.
  • Watch relevant videos to the end, then like, bookmark or leave a real comment.
  • Follow 3–5 accounts per day that post the kind of clips you want to make.

About 30 minutes a day. Don't scroll fast: you're teaching TikTok what to show you.

Days 3–5 · For You training
  • Switch to your For You page. Skip anything outside your niche right away.
  • When a video fits your niche: watch it fully → like → save → comment.
  • Only repost niche videos that already have big views (500K+).
  • Keep doing 30 minutes a day.
You're ready when almost every video on your For You page is from your niche.

Instagram Reels

Quick to block fast engagement, so go slow
Setup
  1. 1Create the account in the Instagram app with a new email.
  2. 2Add your username, bio and profile picture as described in Part 2.
  3. 3Switch to a Professional (Creator) account to see Reels insights: Settings → Account type and tools → Switch to professional account.
  4. 4Don't connect this account to your personal Facebook or Instagram.
Days 1–3
  • Search your niche keywords and hashtags, then open the Reels results.
  • Watch Reels to the end, then like, save and comment on the good ones.
  • Follow 3–5 niche accounts per day. Never mass-follow: Instagram temporarily blocks new accounts that follow, like or comment too fast.

20–30 minutes a day.

Days 3–5
  • Spend most of your time in the Reels tab. Engage only with niche content and swipe past everything else.
  • Share a few niche Reels to your Story. Normal activity tells Instagram the account is real.
  • Post 2–3 Stories over the warm-up period. Simple niche reposts are fine.
You're ready when your Reels tab and Explore page are mostly your niche.
Important for Instagram:Reels carrying another app's watermark get pushed down, and accounts that only repost unedited content get limited reach. Always upload a clean export straight from Snazo, never a video you downloaded from TikTok.

YouTube Shorts

Responds fastest to "Not interested"
Setup
  1. 1Create a new Google account for the channel, or a Brand Account to manage several channels under one login.
  2. 2Create the channel: Profile → Create a channel. Add your name, handle and profile picture as described in Part 2.
  3. 3Add a short channel description (1–2 sentences about your niche) and a simple banner.
  4. 4Verify your phone number at youtube.com/verify. This unlocks more channel features and makes the account more trusted.
Days 1–3
  • Search your niche keywords and watch both long videos and Shorts from creators in it.
  • Like videos and subscribe to 3–5 relevant channels per day.
  • Leave a few real comments on videos you actually watched.

About 30 minutes a day.

Days 3–5
  • Spend your time in the Shorts feed.
  • Use “Not interested” on anything outside your niche. YouTube responds to this quickly.
  • Like and subscribe on Shorts that match what you'll post.
You're ready when your Shorts feed is mostly your niche.
Part 4

Is my account warmed up?

Before your first post, check every box.

Got a restriction or “action blocked” message? Stop engaging for 24–48 hours. Then go back to slow, normal use and don't post until it's gone.
All boxes checked? Get your first clipsPaste a YouTube, podcast or stream link. Clips in minutes.
Part 5

Your first weeks of posting

Start slow, then ramp up.

PeriodTikTokInstagram ReelsYouTube Shorts
Week 11 clip/day1 clip/day1 clip/day
Week 22 clips/day1–2 clips/day2 clips/day
Week 3+2–3 clips/day2 clips/day2–3 clips/day

Every time you post

  • Spend 5–10 minutes on your feed before and after posting: like, save and comment on niche videos.
  • Leave at least 2–3 hours between posts. Never upload several clips at once.
  • Post at times your audience is active. Evenings in the audience's time zone are a safe start.
  • Reply to real comments in the first hour.

Do

  • Pick your strongest clips from each Snazo batch. Ten clips doesn't mean you post ten.
  • Use a hook in the first 1–2 seconds and keep captions readable and centered.
  • Write a short, natural caption with 3–5 relevant hashtags.
  • Use trending sounds on TikTok and Instagram when they fit the clip.
  • Treat it as a test: notice which creators, topics and hook styles work, and make more of those.
  • In a clipping campaign, follow its rules exactly: required tags, mentions, hashtags or disclosures.

Don't

  • Post before warm-up is done.
  • Upload the same file to several accounts on the same platform.
  • Cross-post a video downloaded from another platform with its watermark.
  • Buy followers, likes or views, or use engagement groups and bots.
  • Mass-follow, mass-like or mass-comment.
  • Spam links or “check my bio” in comments.
  • Clip creators who don't allow it, or present your page as theirs.
